Recruiting and Retaining Clinicians

Developed in collaboration with community health center leaders in direct response to the increasing need for a stable, sustainable workforce of excellent clinicians, the Kraft Practitioner Program will recruit and retain physicians and nurses in community health center practice. Support for career development, project-based learning, and active mentorship will expand and sustain the capacity of these dedicated clinicians, and enhance their ability to address the specific needs of underserved communities.  

We expect that Kraft Practitioners will assume leadership positions within their organizations as executive directors, chief medical and nursing officers, or directors of programs, and become mentors and role models for new clinicians beginning their careers in community health centers.  Practitioners will help to build the capacity of their own community-based practice sites, and to recruit and retain the next generation of clinicians.
